MY PATH

I started my career right out of college as a Licensed Social Worker in long-term care settings. I love working with the elderly. They have so much wisdom to share and truly appreciate the time you spend with them. I especially loved working with dementia patients. I also thoroughly enjoyed educating staff and families on dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease because the right approach can significantly improve their quality of life. I enjoyed this work immensely but after 20 years in this setting, I found I was unable to provide “social work” the way it was meant to be. My job became mostly paperwork and insurance compliance and honestly, I was miserable! I moved on to home care and my position required me to work mostly in the hospital setting for the last 7 years. Although I am grateful for the experience, I became completely disheartened by our healthcare systems and knew I needed a change. 
During this time, I was struggling with depression and anxiety and deep down I knew I needed to face the main culprit, my childhood trauma. I also didn’t want to be dependent on antidepressants any longer. I was tired of simply getting through every day in survival mode. 
In 2018 I had what many call a spiritual awakening. Even though I was terrified, I took a leap of faith and took a trip to work with an amazing healer in North Carolina. This experience was life-changing and started me on my path to healing. My path has been miraculous and led me to some amazing places & people. I traveled to Brazil in 2020 and had the most astonishing experience working with a Shaman who further supported me in my healing process. I’ve since connected with so many gracious and gifted healers who have aided me on my journey. 
Healing work quickly became my passion. Over the last few years, I have pursued countless avenues to facilitate my healing. I wanted to acquire as many tools as possible for myself and to help others. I enrolled in Quantum University’s Holistic Health program and added a Bachelor’s Degree in Holistic Health Sciences to my education. I received training in many different areas of Reiki and obtained certifications in Hypnosis, EFT and Transformational Coaching. I attended the School of Earth Medicine 2021 with Shaman/ Reverend Tom Frederick and I will continue to foster my knowledge of Indigenous ways as I resonate most with their spiritual beliefs and practices. 
This journey wasn't easy and I often took several steps forward only to find myself unpeeling another layer that needed to be dealt with. I am so grateful for where this path has taken me. My mindset and outlook on life are completely altered and I see the world with new eyes. I wake up grateful each day for all that I am and all that I have.
